Klang Valley Sugandoi and Unduk Ngadau Gala Nite 2009

kayray
Sememangnya menarik.

Lokasinya diadakan di The Zon All Suite on the Park, Kuala Lumpur.

Campur sama ais sedap pulak tu!

Bukit Broga, Semenyih

Recently, me and my Sabahan gang went up a hill called Broga in the Semenyih area. It’s really a nice place to check out. The slopes, hills and grass they all reminds me of the old series called ‘Little House on the Praire’

Nimrod Jimmy Assam, may his soul rest in peace

I think I first came to know him thru my family tree blog. We found out that we were somehow related sort of thru a cousin of a cousin.

Nimrod or ‘Aryst’ as what he used for his blog name will be missed by his friends, family and fellow bloggers who may have visited each other in cyberspace. We have lost yet another blogger friend. I was informed by my cousin about his demise on Wed, Mar 11, 2009. It was confirmed again by my cousin and further after my dad met his relative, Matius Majihi. Apparently Nimrod was driving back from either KK or Kota Marudu and hit another vehicle from behind. However I can’t verify these info as an accurate account.

He used to run a blog at nimrodjo.com. This was part of his last post that I got from the feed….

In the afternoon, I’ll be fetching my sons and send them at my father’s house because I have to travel to KK (again…) to fetch my wife from the new KKIA Terminal 1. Yes, she was away for 3 days and 2 nights. Fortunately, my 2 handsome sons, don’t give me much trouble.

So, will be tired to surf tonight. I need a lot of rest because tomorrow I need to work. Until next time….SILOPO!

Our prayers are for you and your family Nimrod. We shall see you again my friend. From all of us, bloggers and more…

Excuses on why I still have not climbed mount Kinabalu

Some short description about mount Kinabalu as per Wikipedia:

mount-kinabalu-sabah

Mount Kinabalu (Malay: Gunung Kinabalu) is a prominent mountain in Southeast Asia. It is located in Kinabalu National Park (a World Heritage Site) in the east Malaysian state of Sabah, which is on the island of Borneo in the tropics.
In 1997, a re-survey using satellite technology established its summit (known as Low’s Peak) height at 4,095 metres (13,435 ft) above sea level, which is some 6 metres (20 ft) less than the previously thought and hitherto published figure of 4,101 metres (13,455 ft).[1] The mountain is the fourth tallest in Southeast Asia behind Hkakabo Razi of Myanmar (5881 m), Puncak Jaya (4884 m) and Puncak Trikora (4750 m) of Papua, Indonesia,[1] and is therefore also the tallest in Malaysia and on the island of Borneo, which Malaysia shares with Indonesia and Brunei. Mount Kinabalu is also the 20th highest peak in the world in terms of prominence.
The mountain and its surroundings feature a huge variety of flora, and is one of the world’s most important biological sites.

The main peak of the mountain (Low’s Peak) can be climbed easily by a person with a good physical condition, and requires no mountaineering equipment. Other peaks along the massif, however, require rock climbing skills.

So…why havent I climbed this mountain when I have been living in Sabah for 20+ over years?

  • I had the chance during school days but I was too excited about other stuff
  • I was lazy
  • I was not ready
  • I thought I can say yes and go the next day
  • I was in Kuala Lumpur so I did not have the time to join any climbing groups
  • Economy was not good
  • I had too much work to do
  • I did not have time
  • My shoes are not the proper type
  • i need to work out
  • Hmm… come to think of it, I should be able to make time for Kinabalu. Further more, a friend told me, “If you are a Sabahan who never climbed mount Kinabalu, you better change your Identity Card to a ‘not a Sabahan’ type.”

I want to climb mount Kinabalu no matter what. I will grab any next opportunity that comes by. Hiyarrrgh!
