Another Rungus sighting

Yesterday as I was standing in the LRT on my way to work, while reading my book, I overheard some very familiar language tone. This is the kind of tone that only a Rungus or in my case a ’sesat’ Rungus would know. I heard a lady talking on the phone and in between she was using words like ‘mokirayou’.

It turned out that the two men standing next to me was in the same group and there was another middle aged woman with some kids with here who was also part of the family. I found out that they were of course Rungus and were here on vacation or something. They were on their way to Johor.

Between the brief moment with them, I only managed to introduce myself and my family name which the elder guy said he knew my dad. They are staying near the ‘Padang Golf’ in Kudat. The younger guy is working in PJ Hilton in the F&B department. I did not even manage to get a surname. They stopped at the Pasar Seni station.

mokirayou is not rungus word, it’s typical dusun word. In rungus it should be ‘mokindazou’. to show-off
